Herbs in Action
Wild Cherry bark: Prunus serotina is found throughout North America. In addition to its edible fruits, both the fruit and bark are used to make medicine. Wild Cherry bark is used to soothe irritated throats, ease coughing, soothe the bronchioles, and support lung discomforts. It promotes strong respiratory function and supports a healthy inflammatory response throughout the body.
Elecampane root: The root of Inula helenium supports comfortable breathing and respiratory wellness. Elecampane root nourishes healthy lung function and promotes overall respiratory performance.
Passionflower aerials: Passiflora incarnata is a plant that thrives throughout certain regions in the world. Its aerial parts have been known to help calm the nervous system, support stress responses, support optimal sleep cycles and ease occasional anxiousness and worry.
Hyssop aerials: Hyssopus officinalis has been used to soothe occasional cough and support respiratory wellness. This herb supports comfortable breathing and has an affinity for the respiratory tract.
Red Clover aerials: Trifolium Pratense is a favorite of bees and is now naturalized in North America. Red Clover blossoms gently support the body's ability to eliminate wastes and act as an expectorant, helping the body expel any excess mucus from the bronchioles, which in turn helps support healthy immune function. Red Clover is also considered a mild lymphatic and is commonly used as a mild cleansing herb.
Mullein leaf: Verbascum thapsus has an affinity for the lungs and was traditionally used to soothe occasional cough. Its demulcent properties make it wonderful support for dry and irritated lung tissues. Mullein leaf supports a healthy inflammatory response and encourages healthy microbial balance and immune response.
Hops strobiles: Humulus lupulus have traditionally been used to calm the nervous system, soothe occasional anxiousness, and help support restful sleep. Humulus lupulus were often grown in home gardens and revered for their health benefits.
