Cork is the thick bark of the cork oak tree (Quercus suber). The bark of the cork tree can be stripped off every 10 trees without damaging the trees, which can live for 170 - 250 years. Cork is a sustainable resource that is both renewable and biodegradable. 

Rubber is produced from the sap of a rubber tree. When done responsibly, rubber production increases biodiversity and carbon sequestration, and reduces carbon dioxide emissions from deforestation.
